The ENTRUSTED Consortium invites governmental SatCom user communities and interested stakeholders for the GOVSATCOM panel session. This interactive on-line event will take place on 2 December 2020 at the User Consultation Platform 2020.
The EU Space Programme is evolving to address the already defined and emerging needs and requirements of its user community. The awaited EU GOVSATCOM initiative, which will provide EU Member States and EU agencies with assured satellite communication services, has become an important topic of the EU Space debate.
The nearest opportunity to take part in the UE GOVSATCOM discusstion will be on 2 December during Governmental (GOVSATCOM) Session at the User Consultation Platform 2020. The session will be coordinated with the H2020 ENTRUSTED project that aims to develop a consolidated set of GOVSATCOM user requirements, together with a long-term roadmap and coordination plan for R&I activities related to user technologies. An important part of the research work, undertaken by the ENTRUSTED Consortium and coordinated by SatCen, focuses on capturing current and unfolding governmental SatCom user needs and requirements. Participants of this panel session will also learn about the Network of governmental Users (NoU) established by ENTRUSTED.
An interesting part of the panel session, dedicated to user perspective for secure SatCom in the EU, will take the form of a roundtable on recognised and emerging user needs. The roundtable will be followed by the session on secure SatCom capabilities owned by EU Member States. The last part of the governemtanl panel will concentrate on the review of identified EU GOVSATCOM user needs and use cases, and the planned survey study. The survey will be carried out next year among current and potential GOVSATCOM end-users in the EU.
The full agenda of the the GOVSATCOM session is available here. Outcomes of the governmental panel will be presented at the EUSW Session on Secure Satellite Communications, on 9 December 2020.
