EUSPA has recently launched Research and Innovation (R&I) consultations on downstream applications related to the EU Space Programme components: EGNSS (Galileo, EGNOS), Copernicus, and GOVSATCOM. Insights provided by the industry and academia will inform the definition of new funding priorities in view of Horizon Europe.
The R&I investment, offered in the Horizon Europe funding scheme, will play an important role in the development of downstream applications. It is expected to contribute to an increased use of space signals and data, and to leverage the differentiators of the EU Space Programme components. The overall aim is to improve the worldwide market share of EU downstream industry and SMEs.
Technology and research stakeholders are invited to fill-in a short online survey aimed at identifying specific needs and priorities for downstream R&I related to EGNSS (Galileo, EGNOS), Copernicus, and GOVSATCOM. The survey is expected to provide information on major technological and application trends and challenges for the next 5-10 years.
The online survey is available until 12 December 2021.
